Wisconsin: FBI Investigating 6 Anti-Semitic Incidents As Hate Crime

hcrJewish leaders are upset after six anti-Semitic signs recently appeared in northeastern Wisconsin.

A Wisconsin Public Radio report says the signs appeared in Algoma in late July and were quickly removed. Police and the FBI are investigating the incident as a hate crime.

Elana Kahn-Oren is with the Milwaukee Jewish Federation. She says some of the signs said something to the effect of, “Jews get out, Jew go back to where you came from.” Others had language such as, “Kill the Jews, keep Algoma clean.”

Kahn-Oren hopes the incident serves as a wakeup call for Algoma and the whole state. Algoma officials issued a statement saying the city won’t tolerate signs that are threatening or discriminatory.

The Anti-Defamation League is offering a $1,500 reward to find the perpetrators.
