Report: Mayor Bloomberg Played Golf In Bermuda After Metro-North Derailment

As officials scrambled to deal with the aftermath of a Metro North train derailment in the Bronx that killed four people and injured scores more on Sunday morning, Mayor Michael Bloomberg played a round of golf in Bermuda, the Wall Street Journal reported.

“What can I do? I’m not a professional firefighter or police officer. Nothing I can do,” Bloomberg told reporters outside St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx late Sunday night, while refusing to disclose his whereabouts earlier that day.

“All I can do is make sure that the right people from New York City, our police commissioner, our fire commissioner and emergency management commissioner are there.”

According to the Journal, Bloomberg was hitting the links at Bermuda’s Mid Ocean golf club early Sunday morning, and continued to play through until noon New York time, even though the crash happened at 7:20 a.m.

  1. That’s right Mayor Bloomberg..play golf. It’s the fact that he could play golf while the citizens of city were dying and suffering. You stop what you are doing. If it is too difficult to get back, you call in and ask for an update. You stop all leisurely activity and you empathize with the people in your city. You call federal management and you organize help. If it is possible you high tail it back to your city and show your city that you care- whether you can make head way or not.
It’s called indifference- lack of compassion for the pain and feelings of others. How do we know this? He played golf!!!

  2. This spoiled brat bachelor is incapable of being Nosayn Beol Eim Chavero. He never cared about any of the citizens of the City he allegedly represented. He only represents his rich WHITE friends from Manhattan. Just make sure you keep getting those “Gotcha” parking tickets.
