Anti-Vaxxers Harass HaRav Chaim’s Daughter, Rebbetzin Leah Koledetsky

Anti-vaxxer women came to the kabalas kahal of HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky’s daughter, Rebbetzin Leah Koledetsky, and called her a “murderer” and other derogatory terms and said they won’t leave until the Rebbetzin convinces HaRav Chaim to issue an anti-vaccine statement,  Kikar H’Shabbat reported.

Many members of the Kanievsky family have been subject to harassment and abuse by anti-vaxxers in recent weeks.

“A few women came in, one of them brought me a stack of medical records, claiming that she took care of children with COVID and saved them without vaccines,” Rebbetzin Koledetsky told a friend.

“She asked how we recommend vaccines, claiming that the vaccine kills people. She told me that I’m a murderer and insisted that in middle of kabalas kahal I should leave everything and go speak to the Rav. They wanted me to go upstairs, tell the Rav all the stories and show him the medical records and convince him to make a statement against vaccines. She threatened that she won’t move until I go to the Rav. I told her that I’ll call the police but she responded that she won’t move even if I call the police. I, of course, told her that I’m not going up to the Rav and the Rav isn’t feeling well right now and therefore isn’t dealing with this topic right now.”

“I told her that the Rav himself requested several times that I get vaccinated. At first I told the Rav that I’m high risk but the Rav told me: ‘Nothing will happen to you.’ So I went to get vaccinated. Our whole family got vaccinated. The Rav told everyone to get vaccinated, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.”

“Baruch Hashem that the world was saved from these lies. They said that they [the pro-vaxxers] want to decrease the birth rate but Baruch Hashem, the high birth rate has continued – almost ‘six at one time.’ All my daughters-in-law were vaccinated – before pregnancy, after pregnancy, or in middle of pregnancy – and everything was fine.”

The Rebbetzin added that HaRav Chaim heard about what happened and even requested to hear out the anti-vaxxers. “They sat there for a long time, until two in the morning. The Rav listened to everything, looked at their documents and later spoke with doctors about their claims. Afterward, the Rav said that everything is fine and all the claims are shtuyot (foolishness) and therefore we have to continue to be vaccinated.”

  1. All these claims ARE shtuyot. These crazy women are the ones whose words and actions are killing people and they should have been literally dragged out of the Rav’s home and dropped into the nearest dumpster.

  2. We are living in frightening times! To think t hat people would dar to harass and threaten the Gadol Hador and his family – not a deranged individual, but a segment of Klal Yisrael. Hashem yerachem!

  3. @comments:
its the opposite. the antivaxxers are the ones being attacked,
their parnasah and quality of life severely restricted etc….

Hear out the antivaxxers?? Who rav Chaim? How exactly if they won’t let them in….

The only ones you’re convincing is the American public. The Israeli public already figured it all out

  5. CH:

Stop it! You’re being ridiculous, besides dishonest. I am not pushing for mandates, and I don’t think they’re a good idea. But I am fully vaccinated, and plan to take the booster. The baloney being spread by the anti-vaxx movement is anecdotal. We have watched the conspiracy thepries about this, and the videos have circulated widely. I researched some of them. The “experts” are nothing of the sort. They can sit in rooms with diplomas, wear whilte coats, etc. Google their names, and look what track records they have. How do you spell fraud?

I have been attacked by anti-vaxxers, just because I challenge them when they push their agendas in my face and I ask them to leave me alone. They are full of accusations about murders, etc. But they do not have scientific studies to support what they do. None. Anecdotes. Yes, I know all about these frauds.

If you are looking for statistics – the kind these fraudsters push, look no farther. Approximately 99.8% of people that die have eaten pickles.

  6. ” the antivaxxers are the ones being attacked, their parnasah and quality of life are being severely restricted..”

And hopefully, B’YH, their quality of life will be even more severely restricted and go downhill until these vermin are no longer seen or heard from. Their efforts have resulted in much misery and suffering around the world and we should wish only the same for them.

  7. Why not look at the clear evidence? Israel is the most vaccinated country in the world, and is now going through a 5th wave of COVID……Vermont is the most vaccinated state in the US and has the highest number of COVID cases….All the places where the COVID restrictions are the strictest have the highest rates of COVID. Doesnt that say something???? Doctors and nurses are refusing the vaccine, and subsequently being fired. Open your eyes people before it’s too late.

  8. The only agenda of these wicked anti vaxxers should have been to wish the venerated גדול הדור Happy Birthday & Many Happy Returns of the day on this his 94th birthday, and B’H I went to get my booster in order to comply with the Pesak of the venerated גדול הדור and B’H have felt fine ever since including even the very day after.

  9. So, what are community consequences for people who continue disregarding the psak by a Gadol? Are they holding by some equally weighty other opinion?

  10. Chaylev. Telling the daughter of the gadol hador you won’t leave until her father reverses his psak is not called being attacked. Maybe they should follow their Rav and and their doctors instead of conspiracy theories.

  11. When I see a written psak by Rav Chaim in his hand, with his signature stating that he heard both sides, the mitzius hadevarim, and the halachic basis for his decision then I will believe it.

All we have right now are pictures of people from the health ministry at his table, with his grandson shouting in his ear cause he seems to be hard of hearing, and proclamations from the media that this is what happened. That is not the way matters of life and death are decided and anyone who relies on this is a fool.
