IAF Will Permit Pregnant Pilots to Fly

iafThe Israel Air Force has revised its operating protocol and will now permit pregnant pilots to continue flying, until their 25th week. This marks a significant change in policy today; 15 years after the IAF certified its first female pilot.

In the past pregnant pilots were grounded but today, they will be permitted to fly. During the 15th to 25th weeks of pregnancy they will be limited to transport flights that are no longer than four hours, under 8,000 feet, and with another pilot on board. In addition, pregnant pilots will undergo a physical before entering the cockpit and she will be required to visit the aviation medical examiner once monthly.

  1. I guess their babies are less important to them than their flying carrier. The effect of the G force is detrimental to the female physiology to begin with and the idea of a female combat pilot with all the possible ramifications R”L is crazy all together… I wish them a Refuah Shleimah B’guf and mostly B’nefesh

you’re racist – what if the pilot is male?

  3. “they will be limited to transport flights” so no issue with g force.
if a male pilot is pregnant he’s got bigger problems.
