The city Department of Buildings says all construction sites and buildings should be secured due to a forecast of high winds and snow.

The agency issued the reminder Thursday to builders, contractors and property owners.

It says it will be performing random spot-checks at construction sites around the city.

If the sites are not properly secured, enforcement action will be taken.

The National Weather Service is forecasting wind gusts of up to 35 mph and 6 to 8 inches of snow between Thursday night and Friday morning.
