Rav Amar Shlita Slams PM Netanyahu and FM Lapid


amar“They are harming themselves, sacrificing the nation and the state. This is not a game!” exclaimed former Rishon L’Tzion HaGaon HaRav Moshe Shlomo Amar Shlita.

The rav launched a harsh verbal attack against the government, particularly Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Lapid, mentioning their policy decision that will chas v’sholom negatively impact the Torah world.

“Most unfortunately for all those who feel they may lift a hand against the Torah HaKadosha” stated the rav in a Yerushalayim shiur. “They are only harming themselves. They cannot harm the Torah”.

The rav addressed rumors that state officials will try “They are spreading all types of rumors like they may attempt to draft Sephardim, or possibly they will be more successful targeting Ashkenazim. What do they believe? Torah is a game? This is how they wish to act? Torah is Torah!”

The rav spoke of how our fathers and their fathers were moser nefesh in the face of many harsh gezeiros, some to their deaths, and we will do the same towards being MeKadesh Shem Shomayim.

He expressed outrage of how they turned things around as if the lomdei Torah are the biggest enemies of the state. He blamed the prime minister and finance minister for creating the chasm that exists today between different sectors of the country.

  1. This is a retired civil servant associated with a political party whose members typically serve in the army. A gigantic miscalculation by the Likud/Bayit Yehudi/Yesh Atid coalition is creating a situation that is forcing those who two years ago were proud right-wing Israelis into becoming anti-zionists. So far no one has been drafted or arrested under the new law, and perhaps some of the zionist leadership will back down when they realize the extent of the confrontation they are forcing. But if not, the potential damage to the State of Israel will be far greater than anything Hamas or Iran could do.
