VIDEO & PHOTOS: Kfar Chabad Invited PM Netanyahu To Their Matzah Bakery; Poses For Photos Surrounded By Chareidim

3[VIDEO & PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE]

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, visited the Matzah bakery in Kfar Chabad ahead of the upcoming Yom Tov of Pesach.

He noted, “At home, I have eaten this matza for years. Today, for the first time, I am also preparing it myself. I am very excited. I wish the entire Jewish People a Happy Passover.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu [cited the Pesach haggadah and] added, “In every generation enemies rise up to destroy us but G-d saves us from them. The haggadah mentions four sons – wise, wicked, simple and the one who does not know how to ask – but each one has a Jewish spark and you watch over this Jewish spark.”

Local Chabad leaders and rabbis briefed Prime Minister Netanyahu on the preparations to hold Passover seders at the approximately 250 Chabad houses throughout Israel and the approximately 3,000 Chabad houses around the world. They told him that eating the matza expresses the belief that the Jewish People can withstand any pressure and asked that he continue to stand up for the freedom of the State of Israel.

  1. Wow, if he posed for photos surrounded by Chareidim, as the headline indicates, then that proves he is no longer anti-Torah.

  2. HASHEM YIRACHEM!!! commenters – we are ALL banim of hkb”h. How can you judge a yid like this – what rishoos do you have????? Think about what you are writing and then consider what your Boyreh wants your reaction to the matsav to be. Hashem doesn’t need kano’im, he needs more Aaron Hakohens. We learn taht even a hirhur tshuva is a moyradig inyan. Who cares if its a photo op, who cares who the yid in the photo is, or who he is with. He’s a yid, you’re a yid, we’re all yidden. oy gevald, in nissan no less.

  3. to UJM – It does not prove he is no longer anti-Torah, it is just that he wants to make that impression, and it seems to have worked on you
What I want to know is why did he quote the part of the Hagaddah that talks about himself, Lapid and Bennet

  4. He is the BEST prime minister the country has had since Begin. He is a very good person. you may not agree with his politics at all times, thats your prerogative, to call him wicked and evil is immature and shows your level of intelligence and is not reflective of him at all

“Hashem doesn’t need kano’im” How do you know what he wants or doesn’t want? Where do you take this from? Please get a chumash look in PARSHES PINCHAS IN THE SECOND PASSUK before making ignorant comments

  6. I have always been impressed with Netanyahu. He is eloquent and he cares about Yidden and about Eretz Yisroel. My problem now is that due to the current and/or recent political expediency he seems to have lost that strong leadership. It suits him politically to have Lapid and Bennett effectively run the country and we can all see where that is going. My message to him is as well as standing up to Iran which is the enemy from outside, stand up also to what is (and I am sorry to say this) the enemy from within. Lead from the front even if it costs you the coalition, so what . Stand up Mr Netanyahu for what you know is right. That Israel is only safe when the Torah is safe. Even Ben Gurion knew it , so it seems.

  7. The security guard with the gingy hair is a little to pushy. As the PM said, he is amongst his Brothers so that guard should of relaxed a little.

  8. netanyahu has been a strong supporter of chabad ever since he met with the lubavitcher rebbe (and possibly even before that) i wouldnt be surprised that his reasoning for inducting bnei torah has some shaychus to this because lubavitch is known for going out into shmutz places (like beaches, downtown) to get people to put on tefillin and this would probably be no different, however litvish bachurim arent lubavitch and not all people can do what lubavitch does

  9. RamatShilo: He is the first Israeli prime minister to try to destroy yeshivos. Even such know reshaim such as Ben Gurion back down. Neither the Brits nor the Turks ever tried to destory Torah in Israel. That puts Netanyahu in the same class as the Crusaders and Romans. You might say he is a good person except for one policy (the part about destroying the Jews) – the same might be said for Hitler, so that hardly supports your argument. It could be you don’t understand that learningTorah is what defines being Jewish, in which case you qualify as the what who doesn’t know what to do (but since Netanyahu based on earlier statements knows betters, he’s still the resha).

And it was nice of Chabad to want to invite him to the seder.

  10. yermia : Stockholm syndrome is when a hostage identifies with the kidnappers. Chabad, unlike most hareidim, go out of their way to be friendly to all Jews even mortal enemies. If they encountered a Nazi with a Jewish Great-Great-Grandmother, their first instinct would be to put tefillin on him. This worldview is why Chabad can be nice to settlers in the West Bank, and also work in rather strange places encouraging Jews to stay there and not go to Israel. They can be all things to all people, so it is quite consistent they would be nice to a resha who is trying to destroy Klal Yisrael.

  11. If learning Torah defines being Jewish, then YOU, Kuperman, cannot possibly be Jewish!! I have long ago proven that you do not learn Torah (unless you have one eye on the internet and one eye on a blatt gemara).

  12. I hope they threw out those matzos that he worked on, or at least marked them as unusable for the seder. There could be a serious l’sheim matzos mitzva issue as well as lack of shemura.

  13. Netanyahu when faced with leading a government and continuing to be Prime Minister or not, he chose to be Prime Minister. You see, he had a great previous term and was well on his way to get reelected in a landslide. But for all practical purposes lost the election. Why? Because he had a necklace (the South African version) tied around his neck. It’s called the Chareidim. No matter how low unemployment was and how good a job he did with the security situation, Lapid was able to define him as being too cozy with the Chareidim. This couldn’t continue. The Chareidim are looked at as being a weight on society. Now, Torah protects of course, but you still need an army. The country is moving away from the welfare state and expecting it’s people to carry their own weight. Yes, there are haters of Chareidim in Israel and they are exploiting this. But Netanyahu is not one of them. He is dealing with the hand he was dealt. Plain and simple. The Chareidim should look for ways of working with him and finding common ground. Otherwise, they will go from the minority to permanent minority. Bozzie Herzog will do nothing for them and they will sit in the minority and allow things to happen to them and scream that they are victims. For all my deal friends, here who believe he is so bad. Despite all the hatred that was sent his way by the Chareidim, what negative word did he say against them during this whole year since he was forced to leave the Chareidim in the opposition? In fifteen years there will be a majority of religious. The Chareidim must answer this question, what percent of the population must be religious before they will decide to serve in the armed forces.

  14. #20- You write very logically. Unfortunately, most posters here are anti-Israel and logic is irrelevant to them.
