Deputy Minister of Defense Danny Danon responded to the kidnapping of the three teenagers by Hamas terrorists on Thursday night.
“The State of Israel will strike with full force against Hamas and the terrorist criminals behind this act,” said Deputy Defense Minister Danon. “A red line has been crossed and President Abbas’ Hamas-backed Palestinian Authority government now bears full responsibility for the wellbeing of the three Israeli teenagers,” he continued.
“Our government will extract a heavy price from the Palestinian leadership and we will do everything necessary to return the boys to their families. We are not ruling out any options when it comes to possible actions against the PA government in both Gaza and Ramallah,” Mr. Danon added.

We know that means a politically calculated response. Strong enough to deflect criticism that they’re not doing anything, weak enough to avoid undue condemnation from the West. Basically accomplishing nothing.
