Preparations are underway in the Galil for the yahrzeit of the Tanna Rav Yonatan Ben Uziel in Amuka. Rabbi Yisrael Deri, who is in charge of holy sites in the northern district, is working with representatives of the Ministry of Health, fire service and others to prepare for the large number of anticipated mispallalim.

The yahrzeit will take place on Tuesday 26 Sivan and efforts to prepare are underway in earnest.

Mosdos Yeshuos Amuka which operates the site includes a kollel for avreichim year round. As in past years, the special tikun with 1,000 shofaros is planned for this year. The tikun will be lead by MeKubal Rebi Yechiel Abuchatzera.

Officials report 7,000 mispallalim arrived last year and this year 10,000 are expected.
