Two proposed casinos in the Hudson Valley have received approval from local officials less than a week before developers must submit their applications.
Caesars Entertainment is thanking the Town of Woodbury for voting on a resolution Wednesday to support its proposed casino in Orange County, about 60 miles from Manhattan.
Also in Orange County, the Middletown Times Herald Record reports that the town board in Tuxedo voted Wednesday night to adopt a resolution in support of a proposed casino from Resorts World Orange County, a subsidiary of Genting Americas.
Local approval is required for applicants seeking one of four casino licenses expected to be granted in upstate New York this fall.
Applications are due Monday.
More than a dozen development groups are expected to seek a license.
