Peace Now Rally Thursday Night

pnoThe left-wing Peace Now organization is using social media to get the word out about its “spontaneous protest in light of the events of recent days”.

The protest is to gather “to speak out against all forms of violence, extremism and bloodshed”.

“We may not permit frustration, pain and the righteous rage over the murder of the youths, Eyal, Naftali and Gilad to drag us into a wave of escalation and extremism.

“We should not remain silent in the face of wild incitement of hatred by politician that fuel the fires of hate and lays the groundwork for additional violent and racist protests.

“It is time to step forward in the street and say enough to the murders of innocent people; enough to acts of revenge; enough to escalation and enough to incitement.

“We demand responsible leadership, moderate and sane leaders that will paint a horizon of hope and not escalation!”

Speakers expected to participate include Meretz leader MK Zahava Gal-On, MK Eitan Cabel, MK Amram Mitzne and others. The event is being held in Kikar Habima at 19:30.

  1. It is true that we don’t want violence and we want peace, however, sometimes the only way to do that is through war. Also, it’s true that we can’t provoke their anger by continuing settlement construction and by insisting that Yerushalaim not be divided.
