Report: Unarmed Black Teen Was Shot 6 Times, Including Twice In The Head

mbAn unarmed black teenager killed by a white officer in Missouri was shot at least six times, including twice in the head, a preliminary private autopsy has found.

The New York Times reported that the autopsy by Dr. Michael Baden, a former New York City chief medical examiner, found that one of the bullets entered the top of Michael Brown’s skull, suggesting that his head was bent forward when he suffered a fatal injury.

Baden said it was likely the last of bullets to hit Brown, 18, whose death has spurred a week of rancorous protests in Ferguson, in suburban St. Louis.

Police have said little about the encounter between Brown and the officer, except to say that it involved a scuffle in which the officer was injured and Brown was shot. Witnesses say the teenager had his hands in the air as the officer fired multiple rounds.

Baden told the Times that Brown was also shot four times in the right arm and that all the bullets were fired into his front. The newspaper said the bullets did not appear to have come from very close range because there was no gunpowder on his body.

That determination could change if there were residue on Brown’s clothing, which Baden did not examine, the newspaper said.

Some of the bullets entered and exited Brown several times, the newspaper said, including one that caused at least five wounds. It said one shattered his right eye, went through his face, left through his jaw and re-entered his collarbone. The last two shots in the head would have stopped him in his tracks and were likely the last fired, the Times said.

Baden told the newspaper Brown would not have survived even if he had been taken to a hospital immediately.

Baden did not return a message left by The Associated Press earlier Sunday.

Earlier Sunday, Attorney General Eric Holder ordered a federal medical examiner to perform another autopsy on Brown, citing the “extraordinary circumstances” surrounding his death and a request by Brown’s family.

  1. BECAUSE HE WAS CHARGING THE COPS LIKE A BULL.

When you lifted the story you left that part out because it was in the original story.

Moderators Note: Who lifted what? What are you talking about? Dude, your comments are getting more and more vulgar, and 99% of them are never being approved due to your horrible, despicable RACIST language. Maybe it’s time you find somewhere else to spew your hate?

  2. Hello Moderator,
The story that I read on Fox News said,
“An autopsy conducted at the request of Brown’s family by Dr. Michael Baden, the noted former chief medical examiner of New York, reportedly determined that Brown was hit with six bullets, four to the right arm and two to the head, all to the front and none from close range. One of the bullets entered the top of Brown’s skull, suggesting his head was bent forward.(THIS WAS MENTIONED IN YOUR ARTICLE)

“This one here looks like his head was bent downward,” Baden told The New York Times. “It can be because he’s giving up, or because he’s charging forward at the officer.”(THIS PART WAS LEFT OUT OF YOUR ARTICLE)

Surely, if Fox refers to the NYT, your news service must also utilize other news services when writing stories.(“LIFTING”???)
Just like most stories of this nature, reporting before all the facts are in, invites an increase in tension.
I don’t know about your moderation of that poster but he did have a point that the story was incomplete, I have also experienced that with your news service a few times, as well as op-eds being written like “news,” without clarification.
Thank you, however, for providing news of interest to the Jewish community that is not available elsewhere.

Moderators Note: This article is an AP article. Nothing lifted whatsoever.

  3. With all due respect if the moderator is ywn itself it should be written in a more honorable way.If, as you claim,he goes low, don’t go there with him. In this case, if the claim is true, it is a point that should be checked into, albeit he could have written in a nicer fashion.

  4. Moderator,

I think this is a case of miscommunication…my impression is that the word “lifted” is that you took the contents of an article and reported it here without referencing it(Which you did in your response to me). There is no negative connotation here, this is often done, but why did you question the other poster’s claim?
Maybe I don’t understand the colloquialism “lifted.” Won’t be the first time for me.
BTW, you’d be surprised what is left out of lots of AP stories, especially concerning Israel, and what things they consider as newsworthy. ( A far cry from the neutral organization I remember from my youth.)

  5. “Moderators Note: This article is an AP article. Nothing lifted whatsoever.”

Exactly. Lifting doesn’t mean editing. It means the information was taken (lifted) from another source (the article was not originally written by YWN) . Since you write it was an AP piece, it was indeed lifted. Whether the AP left something out or not is irrelevant.

  6. I do not see the need for a person especially trained in firearms to fire multiple shots including to the head to repel an attacker in a car. A shot in each shoulder at close range would stop most anybody.
