heatHikind and Felder both release statements on heating help for eligible residents.

NYS SENATOR SIMCHA FELDER:

“I’m pleased to announce that the Heartshare Program is under way and my office is now accepting appointments,” stated Senator Felder.

“Last year we were able to help people save over $30,000 towards their National Grid heating bills,” declared Senator Felder, “and this year, I’m hoping to be able to help even more people by bringing the Heartshare Program directly to their Shul or school. My staff will be on hand to help fill out the Heartshare applications and submit them on their behalf . My goal is to make this program more accessible to my constituents who need help with their heating bills,” added Senator Felder.

NYS ASSEMBLYMAN DOV HIKIND:

Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) said that home heating aid for the coming winter is available beginning today from HeartShare, The Neighborhood Heating Fund.
“Residents in need of assistance should not hesitate to take advantage of HearthShare,” said Assemblyman Hikind whose office is designated as an authorized center for The Neighborhood Heating Fund and has been assisting residents with applications and information for years.

The fund was founded by National Grid in 1983 to help low-income families and individuals with elevated bills meet their monthly payments. In 1993, HeartShare Human Services of New York was asked to administer the fund. Together, National Grid and HeartShare assist families each heating season, which runs December through March.

Qualifying constituents can obtain and complete an application at the Assemblyman’s office. Before visiting, please bring proof of income and proper identification. If you have questions, please call Assemblyman Hikind’s office at 718-853-9616.
