Ministry Firm in Planned Closure of Zichron Yaakov Talmid Torah

closedThe Ministry of Education issued a closure order against the Zichron Gavriel Talmid Torah located in Zichron Yaakov as was reported by YWN-ISRAEL. The talmid torah relocated to Pardes Chana and the school’s directors agreed to accept the two students that were previously rejected, the cause of the ministry ruling. However, the ministry announced that it is unwilling to change its position and the closure order remains.

This appears to be due to the fact the ministry believes the school directors launched a protest strike in response to the threatened closure. However, the ministry’s Director of Chareidi Chinuch, Meir Shimoni, explains there was such an allegation but he has learned that a class was on a field trip to Binyamina and there was no strike launched by school administrators.

Kikar Shabbos reports the directors of the talmid torah consulted with gedolei torah including HaGaon Rav Chaim Greinman, and they were told if need be, the school will reopen privately without accepting state funds and rely on philanthropists.

Shimoni adds the school administration did nothing however to prevent parents from striking or to encourage or compel students to return to their classrooms, accusing them of unofficially endorsing the strike action. Hence, the ministry at present is moving ahead towards closing the talmid torah after Shimoni expressed his opinion that the handling of the affair by administration was unacceptable. The ministry adds that it will not permit opening a private talmid torah since a permit from the ministry is required to legally operate such a school.

  1. And did you realize that Shas as a political party behind all this trouble is the most racist party in the Knesset? NOT ONE Ashkanazi there.
Even the arab parties have a token (sick leftist) Jew once in a while.

  2. The great “Rabbi” Shai Piron shr”y, who presently heads the Ministry of Education was being paid $145,000 annually by the NIF simply to research , write and publish articles lambasting charedim

  3. Wonderful own goal for the ministry – just in time for Chanukah! Taking money from such a regime, whose founding fathers expected Yiddishkeit to wither away, is a mistake (true, it’s understandable since schools cost a lot to run). Does the ministry really want to be a modern Eliporny/ Holofernes?

  4. Chanukah is approaching here we’re talking about the lack of Chinuch. The Greeks attempt to destroy who we as Jews were but they didn’t have to do that, as it seems all of you are on the verge of doing exactly that. We left Mitzrayim and we were for the most part an Am Echad except for the erev rav. You’ve all forgotten what the anti-religious forefathers of the State of Israel tried to do and you are somewhat following those same wicked guidelines. They hated religious Jews and so these mamzerim turned around the packed ships of refugee Jews back to the crematoriums of the Nazis to be exterminated. These were for the most part ‘Ashkenazi’ Jews. The Yeminite Jews came over and the same mamzerim cut off their payot, told them there were no mikvaoot told them there wasn’t enough kosher food and more. Since HaShem Echad, Torah there should be once again an Am Echad. Since you dislike what is going on in the Ministry of Education you drop your unwarranted / unjustified sinat cheenam towards Sephardim and in a common fight, push the Israel government to listen to your needs by petition or court cases if that’s what it will take. You cut out this hatred for your fellow religious Jew and you redirect your anger to the purely secular institution called the State of Israel.

Elections are coming, so where are you going to be on that day? If you want a government that sides strictly with the secularists then you vote for the likes of Livni, Lapid and their likes. But, if your heart is really in the right place, with Torah on your lips, then it behooves you to vote for one of the religious parties that mirrors your views on how the Israeli government should be run. If you are able to bring achdoos to Shas, United Torah and more – Kol HaKavod Lecha for then you will have a block and the secularists will have to re-evaluate their stupidity to make it palatable to religious people. Do not settle for verbal agreements but written and witnessed agreements.

The oneness that will occur is when we as a people are once again a TORAH – AM ECHAD, no one will be able to stop our pursuit of having things done appropriately.

We have to mechanech our children that there is NO difference between any of the Adot as we are ALL JEWS!!! Remember what the Greeks wanted to do, is that our goal too to destroy our brothers because they come from a different country? They speak with a different accent, have different minhagim (cultures), eat different foods that we are not accustomed too, etc.?

Enough with the prejudice and fight for Torah values everywhere possible.
