MK Porush Slams State Education – 1 Million Children Taught to be Kofrim

porMK Meir Porush slammed the state’s education system, lamenting the fact that “In the name of progress, to my sorrow, over one million Jewish children are being educated towards kfira”.

Porush made his remarks during the annual talmid torah conference held on Tuesday evening, 22 Teves, stressing the importance of the next Knesset coalition.

Porush stated that Torah education has been under attack for the past ten years, to compel government involvement in the chareidi education system and cut funding. “There have been ups and down but we must not forget; we are dealing with [political] parties that are by and large kofrim b’ikar”.

“In the name of progress, to my sorrow, over 1 million Jewish children are educated towards kfira, and the battle in Knesset is with all of the secular parties which say היה יהודי בביתך וגוי בצאתך and the battle is on every decision, on each and every article in the kfira laws”.

Porush added that fortunately, some coalitions are better than others but the tzibur must remain vigilant. He added that today, “after two years of an evil coalition” the MKs in Yahadut Hatorah question if they can change the evil gezeiros, and the response is a resounding yes. This will of course depend on the makeup of the next coalition and the strength of the religious parties.

“We have to shape up in the next term” Porush added, stating the chareidim must demand what they demanded back before the UN approval and the declaration of the Zionist state on portions of Eretz Yisrael, to show the Zionists that they do not have a proxy to build the country until the organizations that preceded them are settled.

“I tell the head of the Jewish state, if you claim our right as the Jewish People is Torah based, how can you compel us [to accept your ways]. And if you feel our right is based on the UN mandate, then Eretz Yisrael does not belong to the Jews and then at least honor the UN resolutions calling for freedom of education”.

  1. That battle was lost over a century ago when the hilonim took over control of Jewish community institutions, and the frum community became a minority group.

  2. It was often noted that the Rosh Yeshiva Rav Shach זצ”ל said on a certain day of the year that he felt ill. When queried what was wrong, the Rosh Yeshiva would answer, “Today is Sept. 1, and a million yiddishe kinder are being let to the slaughterhouse (starting the new ‘school year’) — I shouldn’t feel ill?”

  3. What is he saying?
The Zionists don’t say “היה יהודי בביתך וגוי בצאתך “.
Rather, they say to be an Israeli nationalist Esav-esque “goy” both in and out of the house.
