Chairman of the Central Election Committee Justice Salim Jubran rejected a request from MK (Yesh Atid) Dr. Ruth Calderon to change the voting date for the 20th Knesset for Israeli diplomatic missions abroad. The justice explained that delaying the vote might result in voting ballots arriving too late and not being counted in the final tabulation.
Calderon pointed out that the voting is set for March 5, 2015, Purim. Nevertheless, Jubran said he cannot and will not change the date. He added “I hope the voters in missions abroad will be capable of incorporating voting on the Jewish festival with the Israeli democratic festival and celebrate them both together”.
