Rabbi Moshe Hager Joins the Yachad Party

haYachad party leader Eli Yishai on Monday 28 Teves announced Rabbi Moshe Hager, who serves as rosh yeshiva of the Yatir Mechina, will be joining his party. Rav Hager serves as a colonel in the IDF reserves.

About ten days remain for the deadline for parties to submit their lists, the lineup for the 20th Knesset elections. Yishai hopes that alongside former Bayit Yehudi MK Yoni Chetboun, Hager will attract the more “Torani” votes from the dati leumi community along with the chareidi dati leumi voters; voters whom are less likely to want to vote for Bayit Yehudi.

In most polls to date, Yishai fails to receive sufficient votes to earn four seats, the minimum threshold to enter Knesset. Many believe that if he announces an impressive list, this will change.

  1. After reviewing Yishai’s party ideology, I begin to wonder if he also has the support of Olim Chadashim, especially Americans, like those who live in Beit Shemesh.

(on one hand he is chareidi, but also understands the workforce, army etc. and can rally the support of those who in america were considered chareidi, but have a hard time relating to it in Israel )

One would wonder why he doesn’t add a member of that community to his list. They need to be represented properly in israel.

Are you a american oleh who supports Yishai?

    Just curious.

  2. Hi i consider myself Chardal (I am originally South African) and I really like Yachad. Again as I keep saying the 2 parties pushing Jewish Unity are Bayit yehuudi and yachad.
    Unity will bring redemption.

  3. Funny you mention it. As a resident of RBS A I can tell you that a lot of us are actually leaning toward eli yishai. He brings the much needed sanity to the table…

  4. Americans come from a culture that demands high ethics from politicians. Scandals ruin American politicians’ careers. In Israel, not so much. Well, this American appreciates that Yishai is a MENSCH! And we need more like him in the Knesset.
