State Comptroller Yosef Shapira announced his office is beginning a probe following numerous complaints pertaining to Hadassah Hospitals, both Ein Kerem and Mount Scopus. While the comptroller did not release details of the �serious complaints� or the names of persons involved, it was stated the nature of the complaints is too serious to ignore any longer.
In the first stage, the comptroller�s team will probe the Hadassah organization to determine if moving ahead with a comprehensive investigation is warranted.
There are reports that some of the complaints involve excessive salaries and payments while the medical center was in a critical financial situation. It should be pointed out that Hadassah has since adopted a fiscal rehabilitation plan.
In response to the report Hadassah officials� state they operate professionally and with transparency and welcome any investigation and promise total cooperation.
