The latest TGI poll shows that Kol Berama Radio remains the leader in the last half of 2014, earning 5.5% of the market as opposed to Kol Chai Radio with 5.1%. The TGI report was released on Monday, 6 Shevat 5775 and it covers the chareidi radio stations and printed news in Israel during the last half of 2014.
The poll shows that the overall listening audience to chareidi radio has declined since in the first half of 2014, Kol Berama registered 6.1% of the market. However, regarding the competition between the chareidi stations, Kol Berama remains the leader. Kol Chai dropped from 5.5% in the first half of 2014 to the current 5.1%.
Among the chareidi population, Kol Berama has climbed from 25.1% to 28.3% in the second half of 2014, a significant gain. During the same period, Galei Yisrael received 2.0% in the first half of 2014 and 1.9% during the second half.
Kol Berama officials point out the station is only six years old yet it is not ahead of Kol Chai, which recently celebrated 18 years of broadcasting.
Newspapers:
Yisrael Hayom continues to grow, increasing the lead on Yediot Achronot among the daily newspapers. In 2013 both newspapers held 37.7% share and at the end of 2014, Yisrael Hayom was at 39.35% and Yediot at 34.9%. The Post maintains its 8.3% share and Haaretz as dropped, now at 5.3%.
Regarding weekly newspapers, Yediot is down 2% and is now at 38.7%, ahead of Yisrael Hayom with a rating of 34%. The Friday edition of Haaretz increased to 6.9% while BaSheva increased to 6.2%, closing in on Haaretz. Makor Rishon finally succeeded in halting its steady decline but has a way to go with a 3.1% share, half of its right-wing counterpart, the feel BaSheva weekly.
