Israel’s Ministry of Defense announced a deal has been signed with the United States for 14 addition F-35 stealth fighter jets in $2.82 billion deal. The aircraft will be assembled by Lockheed Martin and there is an option for 17 additional jets. The first next-generation fighter planes is scheduled to arrive in Israel in 2016.
The cost of the deal covers the planes of course, in addition to the research and development and the addition of Israel’s unique avionic systems.
