Rishon L�Tzion HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Yosef Shlita met on Wednesday 12 Nissan with former President Shimon Peres to discuss the possibility of forming a national unity coalition government, Channel 2 News reported.

The report states the chief rabbi�s meeting was not announced to the public or media as Rabbi Yosef visited the former president in his home.

The former president�s staff confirms the meeting took place, acknowledging they discussed the possibility of a unity government. Officials in the Rishon L�Tzion�s office confirmed the meeting as well, adding Rabbi Yosef holds the former president in high regard and the rav wishes Am Yisrael a Chag Kosher Somayach.
