Israeli Man Who Faked Abduction Released with Restrictions

nivFour days after being arrested for allegedly faking his abduction, Niv Asraf was arrested on 5,000 shekel bail. His friend Eran Nagoker was also released. Police requested remanding them to house arrest but the request was declined by the court.

The two were released by the Jerusalem Magistrate Court on Monday, 17 Nissan. Justice Chen Avital felt the police request was not justified in this case despite a reassurance by police that indictments would be filed against the two on Sunday, 23 Nissan.

Restrictions surrounding their release include being banned from Yehuda and Shomron for 180 days, they may not leave the country, and they each had to put up 3,000 shekels in addition to the 5,000 shekels bail.

Asraf faces charges that include falsifying evidence, interfering in an investigation, disturbing the peace and interfering with a policeperson during the line of duty. Elan faces charges including assisting his colleague and filing a false police report over the phone.

  1. Its because of lowlife punks like Asraf pulling off “pranks”, that we had the delay by the case of the 3 Kedoshim when the call center thought their crackled cell phone call was a hoax. This Asraf trash, should be punished so severely that he should become the poster boy for what happenes when you try “pranks” like that! His “suprised” parents aught to keep their big mouths shut!
