Police Chief Refers to Death of Shalom Yochai Sherki HY”D as a ‘Terror Attack’

During a Shabbos cultural event in Beersheva, Israel Police Chief Yochanan Danino referenced last week’s vehicular accident in the French Hill neighborhood of the capital. Shalom Yochai Sherki HY”D was killed as a result and 20-year-old Shirah bas Ada was seriously injured.

While police have not yet officially declared the ‘incident’ an act of Arab terrorism, Danino during his address on Shabbos spoke of the “Tragic difficult terror attack”.

The family of the victim spoke out harshly before and during the levaya due to Israel Police’s hesitation to declare the fatal incident an act of terrorism as it clearly was. The 37-year-old Jerusalem Arab resident who drove the car was lightly injured and treated in Hadassah Mt. Scopus Hospital while in ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) custody.

Shirah bas Ada on Sunday morning 1 Rosh Chodesh Iyar was reported in serious/stable condition and is still in need of tefilos.
