Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita has been assigned heavy security as he is visiting in Toulouse, France. The Sephardi Chief Rabbi arrived in France on Tuesday afternoon 23 Iyar for a twenty-four hour stay.
The rav traveled to give a chizuk to the community, which has been targeted in a growing number of anti-Semitic attacks in recent years including the murder that occurred in 2012 that claimed the lives of seven community members, including three students from the local Jewish school.
Local security officials decided the rabbi will only travel in an armored vehicle and he will be accompanied by heavy security throughout his stay.
