Inspectors Nab 1,000 Chickens on Route to Slaughter in Um el Fahm


7Agriculture Ministry inspectors working with police on Tuesday, 27 Tammuz, stopped a closed truck that appeared suspicious to them near Yishuv Tzur Natan in the Sharon area. An inspection of the truck revealed it was packed with 1,000 chickens heading for slaughter in the Israeli Arab municipality of Um el-Fahm.

The driver of the truck is described as an Um el-Fahm residents in his 20s. He admitted to police the birds were headed for an unauthorized slaughterhouse and he lacked any and all certificates that accompany a legitimate shipment. The chickens were destroyed and the investigation continues.

  1. You’ve got to be kidding. This is news? Most of the Palestinian economy is black-market, undocumented and unauthorized. This happens constantly in the Wild East.
