REPORT: White House Readying To Release Jonathan Pollard

pollardn1-300x181The White House is looking to release American citizen and Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard just a week after agreeing to the controversial Iran nuclear deal that’s drawn the ire of the Israeli government, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The American-born Pollard has been jailed since 1987 on a life sentence for passing classified information to Israel.

He’s eligible for parole in November, but theJournal reports that “some U.S. officials are pushing for Mr. Pollard’s release in a matter of weeks.”

The White House and the Justice Department both declined to comment to the Journal.Anonymous U.S. officials disagreed on whether the alleged push is an effort to ease tensions with the Israeli government that is livid over the Iran nuclear deal that it believes could threaten its national security.

  1. Much too late. They’re only doing it, if they even do it to pacify us so he can get his “deal” with Iran through Congress. Please let’s not fall for his nonsense. Obama and the Democratic Party deserted us long ago. That includes Chuck Schumer

  2. Most definitely a loli pop/pacifier approach for a dumb, stupid deal. They’ve sanctioned Iran and allowed tyranny to develop and it will destroy the whatever tranquility the world may have aftet Imam Hussein leaves office and Kerry goes back to making Keychup for his wife!

  3. #1 is that what you call Obama is doing what bush didn’t? Wow he’s leting him out 2 days eearly he sure needs to be held up as our Savior.

  4. Screw driver Obama kept him for over six years. He’s letting him out two months earlier. Big deal do me no Favors

  5. The white house isn’t doing anything. By law, after 30 years a federal life prison is released. But of course they will take credit.

  6. Israel will pay very dearly for this. If true it just goes to show how smart Obama is to have kept this card up his sleeve until it could be used to maximum benefit. The izzys are not going to blow Iran to bits nor is anyone else. This is not an American deal. There are many other nations involved. They have a deal regardless of whether the US lawmakers agree to it. The French are already counting the money they will make from the Iranian arms and other sales. The UN will sanction it and the US will be alone. That is not going to happen just because the American yidden don’t like the deal.

  7. My take is that the Israelis don’t really want him out because he’s so bitter about the way they’ve handled him all the years (a few years ago he wrote a scathing letter about a number of aspects of Israeli foreign policy, not just about his case) and Obama is letting him out in revenge to the Israelis for making problems for him about Iran. I don’t know for sure, but it might be.

Avreimi: I agree. If the deal doesn’t go through lots of countries will lift their sanctions immediately (there was a big conference in Austria last week between lots of European and Iranian companies eager to connect and start doing business) and the Iranians will start going full steam towards a bomb. Ami Ayalon, former head of Shabak and former head of the Israeli Navy, says the deal is the best option available for Israel and all the Israeli opposition to it is based on emotion rather than logic.

  8. All this talk, and Pollard still remains in prison. I don’t believe for a second that Obama will let him go free. Clinton & Bush also “hinted” at letting him out & gornisht. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. Once he’s out, THEN you can debate the “motives”.
