Incident at Ben-Gurion Airport Interrupts Takeoff of Hungarian Flight


wizzAn incident occurred on runway 1-2 at Ben-Gurion International Airport on Tuesday morning 21 Cheshvan that compelled a Wizz Air flight to abort the takeoff. There were 110 persons on board the A320 airbus heading to Budapest.

As the Hungarian airline plane was making its way down the runway at 11:15 AM, already cleared for takeoff, cars traveled onto the runway. The two vehicles were crews performing runway maintenance.

Control tower personnel realized what had occurred and ordered the plane to abort taking off. The plane came to a halt tens of meters from the vehicles.

The incident is being probed by the various relevant agencies.
