NYPD On Alert After Receiving Threat Against Officers


nypdThe NYPD is investigating an ISIS-related threat against police officers, WCBSTV is reporting.

The NYPD was first contacted by Philadelphia police after they received an anonymous tip that someone wanted to a shoot a police officer there, 1010 WINS’ Juliet Papa reported.

Philadelphia police investigated and determined the call came from an address in Upper Manhattan, officials said.

The NYPD then received an anonymous call indicating someone was going to shoot a cop, Papa reported. A reference was made to ISIS in that call.

Police believe they know who they are looking for and said the person has several addresses in New York and a criminal record, according to Assistant Chief Thomas Galati of the Intelligence Division.

Counterintelligence Chief John Miller stresses this an alert to police officers, and not the public at large.
