Minister of Religious Services (Shas) David Azoulai on Tuesday morning 21 Adar-I visited the egalitarian prayer area near the Kosel. He was accompanied by senior officials in his office and they were met by Rav of the Kosel & Holy Sites Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz Shlita.

Azoulai wished to get a look at the area and the planned new egalitarian prayer section, which he is required to sign in order for the cabinet decision to establish it to have legal standing. Azoulai explains that he needs to understand all the facts involved in familiarizing himself with the matter.

While the cabinet voted to establish the egalitarian prayer area, it is explained by legal experts that until such time the Shas-affiliated minister signs the order, the cabinet decision lacks legal standing.
