  1. How about Boro Park & Flatbush, or any other place with Unzere heimishe stores? They think they (along with yeshiva school buses) own the streets!

  2. Arent these the same people who want their grocery store to have the cheap prices? This can only happen, if they buy in bulk…This can only happen, if they have where to store the bulk…Ergo….the trailers on free parking spots.
    The Galgail hachozer.

  3. rob?? seriously??? is this the NY Post or something?
Im not a store owner & dont live in Brooklyn anymore, but I know as hard as it is to find parking, its also hard for stores to carry everything in the limited space they have.

Any which way – I understand the frustration, but please change the headline – its very offensive

  4. I’m outraged by the store owners but more outraged about the YWN headline!
do you have a solution for those stores?
do you want them to carry all products? that’s the price.

please stop the hate on each other, leave this for the Dirty NYpost,

    Thanks.

  5. Not sure I understand. If they have a permit then go after the ones who issued the permits. If they dont, then ticket them.

  6. gezailas hurabim. not only that, sometimes it takes up 2 store spaces, and even not, next door stores are blocked from view for potencial customer , so one is also causing hefsed

  7. Lets try to be dan l’caf zechus, and the stores think that most women in the area do not drive, and most stores deliver.

  8. What kind of stupid headline, where then should they put it, on your front lawn? These are your Pesach stuff the’re putting there.

  9. Stupid story. It’s not robbing for goodness sake! Who are they stealing from?? If you don’t like it don’t shop there that’ll teach em a lesson.

  10. Do these store owners have permits to take away legitimate parking spaces? Store owners have no more rights than do automobile drivers. I don’t care what kind of food is in those containers.

  11. Sounds similar although not as grand a scale as the 2nd Ave subway project in Manhattan. Stores were really hurt there due to the seemingly endless work which has already stretched on for many years. Their solution to put up extra signage on barricades on fences etc. has helped shoppers navigate the maze of obstructions.

  12. The City has a rules governing such storage containers and they issue permits based on published criteria including limits to how many spaces can be used on any block and whether there is an established need. Good news is that the City has been made aware of this craziness and brazen takeover of public space and has already begun forcibly moving these illegal containers to remote lots where they store towed cars. The ones that are permitted will not be touched but most of the others will hopefully be removed shortly.

  13. Yes ROB if you live in Williamsburg were parking is a nightmare how disgusting and how selfish most be a store owner with their actions? Where did they storage their stuff 5 yeas ago?? That’s hilarious and outrageous!!! It’s a nonsense style were everyone has to show their competition that they have more containers so they’re selling more Products while they can manage without that. I wish the city will tow all of them with the empty boxes inside
