A large police presence will be on hand during Pesach, with 1,000 officers spread in sensitive areas including the Kosel area, the Old City, shopping centers and parks. Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to be visiting the city during yomtov.

Police remain on high alert in the capital as many yomtov visitors begin making their way during the days of chol hamoed. A special focus will be placed on Har Habayis, which remains at the epicenter of religious tensions between Jews and Muslims.
