As he acclimates to his new responsibilities, newly-appointed Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman this week visited Israel�s northern border, accompanied by IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Gadi Eizenkott, Northern District Commander Major-General Aviv Kochavi and other senior division commanders.

Lieberman was briefed by the senior military officials, commenting he has a feeling of assurance after seeing the level of preparedness first hand. He sent a message to Israel�s neighbors, that Israel seeks �calm� but quickly added a warning, �I do not recommend that anyone test us�.

The senior minister upon conclusion of the visit commented he is confident the area is in good hands and the IDF is doing an exemplary job along the country�s northern border.
