The IDF Spokesman Unit announced on Monday 28 Sivan the IDF targeted Syrian military objectives in response to gunfire near the border with Israel.

While the gunfire is reported as stray fire, apparently from the ongoing civil war in that country, the IDF views the Government of Syria responsible for maintain a peaceful border. The spokesman�s report emphasized there was no threat to border area residents from the stray gunfire.
