Shaul Family Turns To High Court To Prevent Imprisoned Terrorists From Watching Soccer Semifinals

1The family of IDF soldier Oren Shaul HY”D has turned to the High Court of Justice in an urgent petition, requesting the court orders preventing Hamas terrorists imprisoned in Israel from seeing the Euro soccer semifinals on Sunday night 4 Tammuz.

The Shauls call on the court to issue an immediate order to prevent terrorists from viewing the game between Portugal and Spain.

Last week the bereaved parents turned to the head of the prison service, Ofra Klinger, as well as Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan. They are calling on them to revoke any and all privileges given to terrorists other than the minimum compelled by international law.

Last week the Shauls led a protest trying to prevent trucks from bringing supplies into Gaza, seeking to keep the matter of the return of their son’s body in the media.

  1. The security policies of an nation cannot be driven by the emotional needs of a single family for emotional closure, notwithstanding the merits of their situation. EY cannot free hundreds of terrorists to kill again, change their prison policies or make any other security changes because a family-member is being held captive or a body has never been returned. The government should provide grief counseling and whatever material support the law allows, but beyond that the needs of the many must always take priority over the needs of one.

  2. Since this world is run by liberals who put the needs of the few on top of the needs of the many, this family should be listened to.
