Shas party leader Aryeh Deri is among those hoping Rabbi Eyal Karim does not decide to respond to the High Court of Justice in an effort to win the court�s support for his appointment as next IDF Chief Rabbi. The court accepted a petition from members of the extreme left-wing Meretz opposition party challaning a paper the rav wrote over a decade ago, R�L accusing him of permitting abuse of women during wartime due to the total lack of understanding of the inyan of �Eishes Yifas Toar�.

Deri is critical of the High Court and Justice Salim Jubran, who was brazen enough to say �I know the Torat Yisrael and it contains good things and I have not found such a thing�sad that the rabbi could think of such things�.

Jubran, a non-Jew, had the audacity to believe his knowledge and understanding of Toras Yisrael exceeds that of Rabbi Karim. Deri shared his disdain for the judge�s remarks with Galei Tzahal (Army Radio) during an interview. �Oi Va Voi� stated Deri if Rabbi Karim decides to respond to the court.
