A live fragmentation grenade was found in an electric box of the Haganah Museum on Rothschild Street in Tel Aviv on Thursday morning 7 Teves. The Israel Police bomb squad was summoned and it was determined the grenade is quite dated, removing it without incident after closing off the area.
According to the experts, the grenade is a remnant from the 1920s, probably used by underground fighters during the pre-state days.
Because of its age and its activation system the experts explain, the bomb demolition technicians had to use extreme caution removing it. It will be neutralized and then placed in the museum as another piece of the history of the pre-state days.
