Catskills: Mike Schiff Announces He Will Seek Reelection As Sullivan County Sheriff


schiffOn Wednesday February 1, 2017, at a noon time press conference in Liberty, Sullivan County Sheriff Michael Schiff announced that he will seek a fourth term this November. Schiff first took office as Sheriff in 2006 after serving 28 years with the New York State Police. Over the past eleven years, Schiff has modernized the Sheriff’s Office, created several new law enforcement initiatives and pursued the construction of a new jail.

With over 30 years of Law Enforcement experience, Sheriff Micheal Schiff has proven that he is a true law enforcement leader. Under his leadership, together with the hard work and dedication of his deputies and employees, Mike Schiff has made the Sullivan County Sheriffs Office one of the most respected law enforcement agencies in the County.

Mike is a true community leader, and works closely with Catskills Hatzolah, Misaskim & many other community organizations.

Mike Schiff retired from the State Police in April of 2005 and was elected Sheriff in November. On January 1, 2006 Michael Schiff was sworn in as the 46th Sheriff of Sullivan County.
