Yosef Banda Home for Yomtov


Yosef Banda, one of the bochrim who was arrested in Japan for drug smuggling has been granted a leave from prison for Shavuos. In accordance with Israel Prison Authority regulations, Banda is entitled to a 24-hour leave from prison which he opted to use for Shavuos.

Banda is serving the remainder of his sentence in Nitzan Prison.

The Japanese court sentenced Yosef to 5 years imprisonment and a $40,000, and after calculating time served, he still has a bit over 18 months that will be completed in an Israeli prison.

The tzibur is requested to continue including Yosef ben Ita Rivka, Yoel Zev ben Mirel Reesa Chava and Yaakov Yosef ben Raizel in tefillos.

  1. B”H! I can’t imagine the joy he’ll have finally being allowed back home after the gehennim he’s lived. Also, can I assume that it’s not a firm 24 hours to allow time for him to start/end yontif b’zmano?
