American Yeshiva Bochur Struck By Bus in Eretz Yisrael

An American yeshiva bochur was struck by an Egged bus yesterday in Yerushalayim. The accident occurred on Admor MiLubavitch Street in the Ramat Shlomo neighborhood of Yerushalayim. He was hit while crossing the street, and suffered a serious head injury. United Hatzala members administered first aid on the scene. He was transported to Hadassa Ein Kerem Hospital by MDA and transported with moderate to serious injuries.

Reports are that the bochur arrived in Eretz Yisrael last Thursday for the Elul Zman. His parents were notified and are coming from America to be at his side.

Contrary to baseless rumors, the bochur is alive, however, he is in critical condition.

This accident occurred only an hour after a woman was hit by a cement truck on Rechov Shmuel Hanavi in Yerushalayim. She was moderately injured and MDA gave her first aid treatment at the scene. She refused to go to the hospital until she got her head covering back, which had gotten caught in the wheels of the truck.

The driver of the truck was arrested, and questioned by the police.

הוריו קיבלו את הידיעה וככל הנראה כבר הלילה יעשו דרכם לישראל לשהות לצדו.

@Sef: Why do you say that he was released? I assume you have a source. Please, share the good news… Unless you’re talking about somebody else?
