Kollel Fraud Affair: Police Chief Says Dozens Of Other Organizations Involved; Suspects’ Remand Extended

The Jerusalem Magistrates’ Court has extended the remand for the six Charedi organization members who are under suspicion for defrauding the State out of millions of shekels. The remand was extended by five days.

At the hearing, the six suspects deny all charges and chose the right to remain silent during their interrogation.

Chief Superintendent Haim Shmueli of the Jerusalem police said yesterday he believes “dozens of other organizations are involved”. Police sources expect additional arrests will be made in the case in the near future. Police are also looking into where the money paid by the Education Ministry ultimately went.
