MK Eitam Tells Arab Car Thief: Car Is All Your Getting From Israel!

A spokesman for MK Effie Eitam tells Yeshivaworld, that the MK’s car was was stolen by an Arab car-thief earlier today outside his rented apartment in Yerushalayim’s French Hill neighborhood.

The Knesset-leased vehicle had Eitam’s cell phone inside which had the phone numbers of many Israeli officials – including the Israeli Prime Minister.

Shortly after Eitam realized his car was stolen, he received a phone call – from the thief himself!

He attempted to negotiate with Eitam, and offered him the return of the car in exchange for NIS 12,000.

In a statement to Yeshivaworld, Eitam said that his response to the thief was: “considering that the Annapolis Peace Summit is coming up next week, consider the car all Israel is giving you”, and slammed the phone down.

The car has been tracked by Israeli Security Forces, and is currently in Ramallah.

Eitam further said that what bothers him more is the fact that the thief drove his car right past an Israeli checkpoint – completely undetected. Eitam said that he immediately informed the Knesset’s Chief Security Officer of that.

  1. The members of the IDF is too busy praying for the day that Olmert will be removed from office. That is how this car thief was able to get through the checkpoint!

  2. They do not check most of the traffic going out of Jlem. Most of the checking is done coming in. In fact most of the time there is just one officer there and s/he is not even monitoring the cars.

Also I don’t think cars leaving should be checked as much since they are leaving Jlem and going passed the green line.
