New Lighting Ahead Of Yahrzeit Of Rochel Imeinu

A new lighting system has been installed at Kever Rochel, significantly improving the lighting on the approach road to the holy site. The project was undertaken and funded by the Civil Administration in conjunction with the IDF Homefront Command and the Seam Line Administration.

The lamps that were placed along the road leading to the tomb were erected for the benefit of the approximately one million mispallalim visiting the site every year. The new lighting line illuminates the road leading to the site, as well as the entrance to the tziyun and the parking lot.

In less than two months, the celebration will take place on the day of the yahrzeit, and tens of thousands of people are expected to arrive at the site for 24 hours. Road lighting will assist all visiting the site.

About a year ago, a water line was inaugurated that allows direct connection of the complex water system of the city of Jerusalem, replacing the dependence on the water line from the Bet Lechem area. To date, the Civil Administration has invested over 1.5 million shekels in various projects for the development of the site.
