VIDEO: Jerusalem Legal Counsel: 4 Minim Prohibited From Har Habayis

(VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

The Jerusalem legal counsel has ruled it is prohibited for Jews to bring arba minim on Har Habayis. He was responding to a request from Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, attorney Aviad Visuli, Yehuda Puah and Yochai Sarel.

The legal counsel explained that visiting Har Habayis involves complying with the current religious status quo, which includes a prohibition to perform ritual activities containing overt external signs, including arba minim.

Yehuda Puah, who heads B’Tzelmo, expresses sorrow over the ruling, which he finds is discriminatory, citing the prohibition mentioned above applies to Jews and not Muslims, hence the policy is not equal for all.

In the accompanying video, Push tries to bring arba minim onto Har Habayis in 2013 and after being cited by a Waqf official who called Israel Police, he was detained.

Gedolei Yisrael over the generations and the Chief Rabbinate of Israel prohibit visiting Har Habayis, which they explain carries the punishment of karess.
