Who Is Running This Scam? To Collect Funds To Reimburse Peleg Protesters

Some people have been receiving calls from a man who says he represents an organization call HaChoma (The Wall), explaining he is raising funds to reimburse talmidim and avreichim whose clothing and personal property were ruined during recent Peleg faction protests.

The caller explains that “The brutality of police” in which they broke anything within reach, like eyeglasses, has led to a campaign to raise funds to assist them, as many have ruined their clothing.

The caller then explains the organization is backed by Gavaad Eida Chareidis HaGaon HaRav Yitzchok Tuvia Weiss and HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach, then stating “I am a son of the Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef, and I can tell you he personally backs this effort too.”

‘Kol HaZman’ reports a probe into the caller and his claims has shown that (1) The caller is not a son or grandson of the Rishon L’Tzion, who by the way does not endorse this. (2) There is nothing showing the effort is backed by Rav Weiss or Rav Auerbach. (3) No one seems to know who gets monies donated to the individual as Peleg faction officials insist they too have nothing to do with what appears to be a scam.

  1. In fact, the above mentioned groups of rabbis and followers are also scammers in that they practice a perverted deviation of judaism and then have the audacity to say that their atrocities are the will of G-d.

  2. No more of a scam than that being operated by the Peleg demonstrators who tell us they cannot go into the army because their whole lives are dedicated to limmud haTorah when in fact they are out in the streets stealing peoples time and causing them financial loss.

  3. Even if this story were true, the Peleg protesters should suffer the consequences of their behavior. It is a disservice to support them in any way whatsoever.
