Bitan Questioned In Corruption Case For A Fourth Time On Sunday

MK (Likud) David Bitan, who last week resigned as coalition chairman under a veil of corruption investigations, was questioned by police in his case for a fourth time on Sunday, 6 Teves. Bitan has been questioned ‘under caution’, which signals a criminal indictment is likely to follow.

The case against Bitan addresses his tenure as a Rishon L’Tzion councilman and head of the Planning & Building Committee. He allegedly made illegal deals with organized crime families towards paying his NIS 1.6 million in accumulated debts

While Bitan stepped down as coalition chairman, he continues serving a Member of Knesset for the time being.
