Bnei Brak: Suspect In Custody In Theft Of Baby Carriages

Recently, the residents of the Bnei Brak neighborhood suffered from a plague of burglaries and theft of strollers. In many cases, parents wake up in the morning in order to leave for nurseries, kindergartens, and schools – only to discover that the expensive children’s carriage that was locked in the lobby of the building was stolen during the night.

On Tuesday morning, 14 Shevat, residents were hoping the saga had come to an end with the arrest of a suspect in these thefts.

During the night, volunteers from Shomrim were summoned to Nachum Street in the city following a report that reached the organization’s center about a suspect trying to break into children’s carriages connected to houses while using tools to cut locks.

When the suspect spotted the organization’s fast-moving response vehicles, she began to flee. At the end of a brief chase, the suspect, aged about 40, was caught with burglary tools, apparently planning to steal additional strollers. In addition, jewelry and valuable silverware were found in the suspect’s possession, also presumed to be stolen items.
