Israel’s Economy is Strong: Unemployment At Lowest Point Since the 80s

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke on Wednesday about the economic situation of Israel after the National Bureau of Statistics published its finding which said that the unemployment rate in Israel is at the lowest point it has ever been at since the 1980s.

According to the report, Israel’s overall unemployment rate hit just four percent in December 2017. This is the lowest unemployment rate recorded in four decades.

Netanyahu told 0404 news service that: “The government under my leadership, and together with Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, is continuing to enrich the lives of Israel’s citizens and strengthen the economy of our country.”

The low unemployment rate was a full 3 tenths of a percent lower than that registered by the Bureau for November 2017. The new rate puts Israel 27th in the world in terms of percentage of the population that is unemployed, and 6th among western nations. They trail other western nations such as Lichtenstein, the Czech Republic, Germany, Mexico and Hungary.
