IDF Northern District Commander Major-General Yoel Strik on Sunday, 26 Shevat, addressed the escalation in hostilities between Israel and Syria. He warmed that the situation is a fragile one and it could turn into a full-blown conflict in a moment.

He stated �The division whose home is the Syrian border has importance that cannot be overstated. Iran wants to create a frontal command in Syria and we will not permit this�. The senior commander made his comments during a ceremony in the Northern Command.

The commander added, “Iranian involvement in the region is a disturbing threat to Israel and the entire world.”
