Amid Police Investigations, Likud Launches Campaign To Support And Boost PM Netanyahu

In light of the police recommendations, the additional investigations and left-wing attacks on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, the Likud’s “Forum for Unity” has been launched Monday morning, 4 Adar, in a campaign to strengthen the prime minister as a great leader against the entire left and demand for sovereignty.

In the coming week, the Knesset’s Ministerial Committee for Legislation on the “Law on Sovereignty in Yehuda and Shomron ” launched an extensive campaign of “coalitions for sovereignty” in the Likud, urging the prime minister to vote against the entire left on Sunday, at the cabinet meeting, and permit the law granting sovereignty to those areas, namely Yehuda and Shomron.

The campaign focuses on calling on the prime minister to hold the vote, in view of the massive support for the law of sovereignty among the members of the ministerial committee on legislation, which are expected to be approved by a large majority. Mr. Netanyahu in recent weeks has pushed off the vote on sovereignty for various reasons as the prime minister feels such a move must be coordinated with the White House.

In the campaign, Netanyahu’s words were quoted from the last Likud faction meeting in which he said about the law of sovereignty: “This is a move with historical implications” – under the caption: ‘A Great Leader Against the Left’.

The Left is represented in the campaign by photographs of left-wing media and politicians: Ilana Dayan, Yair Lapid, Eldad Yaniv, Ben Caspit, Raviv Drucker, Amnon Abramovitch, Avi Gabbai, Razi Barkai and others.

In the upcoming “Convergence to the Sovereignty” forum, they intend to step up the demand to vote on the law in the next few days, with the pressure of the forum members on the prime minister and Likud ministers so that the window of opportunity will not be missed.
