Police Make Eight Arrests Following The Fatal Old City Stabbing Attack


A Jerusalem spokesman unit official reports on Tuesday morning, 4 Nissan, that eight arrests have been made in connection to the fatal terrorist stabbing attack on HaGai Street in Jerusalem’s Old City. The attack occurred on Sunday, 2 Nissan, claiming the life of Kochav HaShachar resident, 32-year-old Adiel Coleman HY”D. He is survived by a wife and four children.

Police have established that clearly, the attacker, who was shot dead, was intending to harm or kill as many people as possible. The eight persons arrested are vendors or residents of the area of the attack and police have learned they realized what was going to take place yet did nothing to prevent it. The suspects range in age from 15 to 67 and will face charges for not acting to prevent a crime. Two of them were released on bail. The others are to be arraigned.

Police report that the increased police presence in the Old City continues as part of overall efforts to prevent attacks in the area.
